Ground Breaking

Last Saturday we attended the ground breaking ceremony for the Cambridge Stake Center! We have been hearing about this building since we moved here over 3 years ago. There have been a lot of bumps in the road getting this building started and we weren't even sure we'd still be living in Boston when construction began. The building won't be completed until 2010, but at least we'll get to see it in the beginning stages.
This is what the building will look like once it's completed. Our Stake does not have a Stake Center, our ward actually meets in an old Boiler Factory. We drive out to Westin (about 40 mins away) to use their building for Stake Conference.
Ty and I got to "break ground." We're pretty much famous.
I do appreciate that they brought in a sandbox for the ceremony in lieu of using jackhammers on the concrete.
This little stinker was really intrigued by the giant sandbox. During the program, Mckinlay went up to the box and took a handful of dirt. When the Stake President announced that the ground breaking would begin he said something along the lines of, "Well, the first to break ground was the little Loveless child..." That's my daughter for ya. Always trying to one up everyone.
Bless the genius who thought to bring sidewalk chalk to the ceremony. Brilliant I tell ya!

Here is an article from the Boston Globe.

  4. That is so cool. Especially when you have your children with you. I loved watching the angel Moroni go up on the Oquirrh Mtn temple this summer with my kids and watch it be built. You are famous to me.

  5. Too cool. Save this picture - have the feeling it's going to come in handy in the future.

Looks like Kinners' boots are here too stay. What a dollbaby she is. Want to squench up those little cheeks.

    Love, Mom

  8. Hi Darling! So what kind of callings do you have to have to get that kind of honor? Wow! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I have been thinking about you today and wanted you to know that you are quite a gal. You were made to be the perfect homemaker/ creative mother/ spunky wife. Sigh... oh if I could be more like you! "How I love ya, my dear ol roomie!"
