We got a piano about a month ago.
{thank you craigslist!}
We've been wanting one so I can brush up on my playing, so Ty can learn more than the first 3 bars of the only song he knows how to play, and so Mckinlay (and eventually Eliza) could take lessons.
Mckinlay started lessons 2 weeks ago:
Impressed?
We think she's pretty cool.
And funny about the whole matching-striped-shirt-thing, it really does happen a lot. Not intentionally either. Like the other day when all 3 us of show up at the doctor's office in slip on shoes, the same type of jeans, a t-shirt, a zip up hooded sweatshirt (in varying shades of purple), and a pony-tail. It was actually kind of embarrassing. Apparently it shows who buys my girls clothes and dresses them in the mornings.

But, like, for reals.

great job, mckinlay! how fun! we inherited my grandma's piano but have yet to get it moved(it's in seattle). i'm so excited to get the kids started and maybe learn a bit more myself.
ReplyDeleteand the matching clothes? i do that all the time! i won't realize till we leave the house that i've dressed us all in green, or all in stripes, or whatever. clearly my wardrobe moods carry over to the kids. if i could trust them, i'd let them pick their own outfits but they haven't proved themselves worthy yet ;)
can not get over how big McK is. Seriously, how did she grow up so much. Your girls are adorable as always! Fun St. Patty's crafts too ! miss you megs.
ReplyDeletei love the expression of "I am so proud of myself" on mckinlay's face...i am pretty humbly proud too! all this has inspired me to brush up on my "poor wayfaring man of grief" rendition! as for the matching clothes...we live miles away from each other and still end up buying the same things......totally genentic via target!
ReplyDeleteSo darling! I love that she sang along with Jingle Bells, that was too cute! She is so big! Holy Cow! What a fun thing for her to do! Ha, also, I love your Mom's comment...totally genetic via Target! That's too cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is way exciting. I was pretty excited to have a piano, and I didn't know that you played at all. You have been holding out on us?
