Yo ho ho and a load of fun!

Ahoy thar land-lubbers!
Yesterday be our 4th annual family pirate night!

We cheered "Yo ho!" as we initiated our newest addition into the crew.
{remember this?}
Yar!

We hunted for treasure,
played pirate-y games,

feasted on salty grub
and ate treats.

Side note --
It comes in handy having an oral surgeon husband when you want to decorate for pirate night.
You know, just in case the conversation turned to dental work?

Since this little pirate is now a "big pirate" she got her own mug for her frothy grog.
Gone are the days of plastic cups...
'Til next year me hearties!

I can't believe how much Mckinlay has grown!}

  1. awesome. i love this idea. especially because 1. i love pirates and 2. i bought a huge load of cute pirate junk last year on clearance thinking i'd use it for nash's fourth birthday party. well, he's totally against the idea and wants a "sewing machine party" instead. so maybe now i can put the stuff to good use? and do you have any ideas for a manly sewing machine party? i'm at a loss...

  3. if i practice my pirate talk and get a tatoo (rub on of course) can I come next year?! (I like the new background...it reminds me of the siding on our manoa house before we re-did it...I didn't fully appreciate at the time how shabby chic we were, so ahead of our time?!)

  4. This is such a cute idea? How did you pick which day? You probably mentioned in years past, but I've forgotten. I LOVE traditions and need to start a few fun ones like this.
