We took Mckinlay "ice staking" yesterday.
I say "ice staking" because it was faux ice. Major bummer.
I'm no professional ice skater, but I did frequent Ice Palace, so, I mean, I can work it in the rink...but for the life of me I couldn't move on that "ice."
Fortunately Ty could, so he took Mckinlay out. She was convinced she could do it "all by myself."
And she could do it "all by myself"...
after she put her regular boots back on.
What? You've never heard of "Domenic the Donkey"? The "Italian Christmas Donkey"? Well here you go.
This is so cute! I love her little tippy toe dance. BTW, what is fake ice? Isn't it cold enough here to make real ice? Is fake ice supposedly safer? Hmmm...
ReplyDeletei don't know about safer, but it's CHEAPER. the write up about the rink even said that is why they did it. the temperature doesn't need to be monitored/maintained and it doesn't require a zambonie {never typer that word before--is that how you spell it?} to smooth the ice.
ReplyDeletei wonder if it was so hard to skate on because it was wet from the snow.
A) Thank you for bringing Ice Palace back into my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteB) Thank you for your caption of "toe pick."
Both made my afternoon.
