4th of July

We had a fabulous 4th of July yesterday.  We spent the day at the beach with 9-10 other families.  I've been looking forward to our beach day, fingers crossed we have nice enough weather {gotta love Cleveland}.  Thankfully, we couldn't have asked for more perfect beach weather!

We ended the day with a BBQ with friends.

Here's the day in review:
{this may be the cutest friends picture ever.}

{this face pretty much sums up the day.}

{remember this dress?}

What a great way to celebrate our nations independence.
The only thing that would have made it better is if we had our families here too.

As a side note, I have a little sign out the says "I pledge allegiance to the flag...", and Mckinlay was asking me about it and what it means.  I tried to explain to her what it meant and how lucky we are to live in a free country.  I said that

"living in a free county means people can't tell us what to do"

then I stammered a little, thinking

"this is gonna come back and bite me."

I tried to correct myself and Mckinlay interrupts with

"So what your saying is people can't tell us what to do -- except for you can tell me what to do because I don't know how to make all good choice yet."

Why yes.  That's what I meant.
Good girl.

Happy 4th of July everyone!
