We found our new "clubhouse" as Mckinlay named it, on the "tree lawn". For those of you not from Ohio, basically we found it on the curb in front of someone's house. Like with the trash. Just like in Boston, but here they have a name for it. You can place big items out on your "tree lawn" {the grassy patch between the road and the sidewalk} with the hopes that someone comes along and gives them a new home before trash day arrives. I could do an entire post on tree lawn treasures. Maybe one day.
Back to the clubhouse. I cleaned it up and Ty and I set it up. The next day Mckinlay went out to play in it. She asked for my phone, which I handed to her. She called up my mom and said:
"Hi Happy Jo. I need you to print out some vinyl letters for my new clubhouse. "
So print out vinyl letters she did.
You can't refuse a request like that.

Turned out really, really cute.
Now Mom, if you could just figure out some vinyl to cover up our neighbors super awesome mess of a backyard, then you'd be super awesome too!

hands down my favorite "client" so far! however, she still owes me way more "snuggle time" in payment...may have to come out personally to collect!?
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely interests your neighbors have!
ReplyDeleteSUPER cute clubhouse.
I miss that, they don't do that here.
ReplyDeleteAdorable club house. Hilarious neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI love the clubhouse, and I love the pictures of the kids in your previous post, they are precious:) Sweet neighbors, I only get a view of their house from the front and I think I like it that way:)
ReplyDeletethey don't have a name for it in DC...but oh my goodness, it's amazing to me what people will just place on their front walk. i'm not complaining though - i love free stuff. the vinyl really makes the club house adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea for the club house--and I love that Mckinlay is so well trained to think of vinyl!
ReplyDeleteI love your neighbors' taste in decorating--we were thinking of doing the same thing in our front yard ;-).
Why can't people leave stuff like that for the taking around here? My boys would love something like that and the 'clubhouse' turned out so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love that she called your mom to get vinyl! That is darling! It turned out so cute and what a fun little thing for those two sisters to play in! I love it!
