Resolutionary Challenge 2010

A friend invited me to take part in this year's Resolutionary Challenge with her. It is a 12 week challenge designed to get you in the mind set of setting and keeping goals. There are 10 daily goals to achieve, that are, for the most part, relatively simple, but a great way to start off the new year. You get up top 10 points a day for the goals you keep and have the potential to earn prizes along the way or to win a prize for being one of the top three at the end of the 12 weeks. There is also an on-line forum to communicate and connect with the other participants.
Here are the goals:
1. Do the dishes before I go to bed.
2. Drink 8 glasses of water.
3. Exercise 30 minutes.
4. Be ready to present myself to the world by 11 a.m.
5. Eat 2 servings of fruit/3 servings of vegetables each day.
6. Savor up to (1) small treat/per day
7. Take 15 minutes just for me (e.g. read a book for fun, for meditation, contemplation of the divine, take a walk, watch a TV show)
8. Finish eating by 9 p.m.
9. Wild Card - this challenge will change weekly.
10. Do something today that will make a difference and record it in my "Atta Girl" or "Atta Boy" journal.
I'm excited to get started. I think this will be really good for me. Hopefully over the next 12 week I will be a healthier, more goal oriented, and smaller version of my post-pardum self. Fingers crossed, right!?
Wanna join in? The challenge starts today, so you have until tonight to register.

  1. Hmmmmm...sounds like a great idea. If chasing kids around the house all day qualifies as 30 min of exercise then count me in!

  2. Some good goals. I don't think I could go as far as actually registering for something and being accountable! I know you can do it.

  3. Well, after talking to you on the phone, I am totally doing these goals (on my own). You can hold me accountable at the end of January. I have actually wanted to get up before Madelyn so I could get ready and all that stuff before she is up and into everything. I like the list and I am excited to give it is try.
