Dr. Loveless in action

Ty's 3:00 patient canceled yesterday so he called me up and told me he found a classmate of his to watch Mckinlay if I wanted to come in for a cleaning. YES! I haven't had a dental cleaning since the summer before we got married while I was still on my parent's insurance! So I desperately needed it.

We got to the clinic, I sat down in the chair and Ty passed Mckinlay off to a couple of girls in his class. She started crying but we told them if they left the room and she couldn't see us she would probably be fine. WRONG! Half and hour later, bless their hearts, they come back in with a sobbing, splotchy red faced Mckinlay who had apparently not stopped crying as soon as we were out of site. So she spent the appointment as Daddy's assistant.
She just sat there and smiled and laughed. Do you think she will do this again when I go back and get my HUGE cavity filled? Maybe that is pressing our luck.

It was so fun seeing Ty is action. He is one cute little dentist. I can see why one of his patients has a crush on him. But as cute as he is, should I be nervous about letting him fill my cavity? I'll keep you posted on how that goes.Only teasing Ty. We all know how confident you are with your dental hand skills. I have complete faith in your confidence babe.

  1. Looks like a cute little dental assistant in the making...Mckinlay that is! Why stop there...maybe she can be a dentist too and take over Dad's practice!

  2. Adorable photos! What a miracle that your cutie would stay still while "assisting". Can you imagine if she'd have tried to jump into daddy's arms or something??

  5. Cool. Times like these make me wish Kurt was a dentist... or maybe something else that would allow us to save TONS of money...eye doctor? hair stylist? personal shopper? um.... maybe I'll stick with his current profession. Cute pix, btw.

  7. That is so cute. We took Cora to the Dentist with us and she did not like what they were doing to her dad. She thought he looked and and the sounds were scary.

  8. Fun stuff! I had to do that with Ka'iwa one time, when I went to the Orthodontist. I wish we got free dental. I just spent $1000 (yes you read that right) on Kalena and Ka'iwa's teeth yesterday. 12 sliver teeth, 4 sets of front caps and about 8 other cavities later. How this happend I have no clue cuz my kids LOVE to brush their teeth. Good luck on getting your monster cavity filled. I'm sure Ty will be extra gentle.

  10. Just watch out Meghan, I've heard what some dentists do when their patients are under anesthesia! Dang, I was trying to be funny, was that inappropriate?

  12. That's my boy! What a fun, fun experience for the three of you. Just keep remembering Ty's great Einstein sculpture. There's got to be a direct relationship between that and carving a filling to look and feel good.

    Love, yo'momma

  15. Dylan went in for his first checkup. I was prepared for the worst, but he was amazing. He just took it all in and thought it was fun. The next day he asked when we could go back! I should let him enjoy it while he can.
