I turned my back for, not even 2 seconds, then down it came. Right on top of her. It scared her so bad, I thought she might have lost interest in the tree for a while. Not the case. As soon as I stood it up again, she went right for it.But, how can I blame her. How can we expect an 11 month old little girl to not be interested in a big tree covered in lights and little toys? When I was a kid, my mom set up a perimeter of chairs around the tree to keep me away. If we had the room, I'm sure I'd do the same thing.
And speaking for the similarities between Mckinlay and I--I have a bunch of homemade ornaments that I've made through the years that have pictures of me on them. We all know that Mckinlay definitely looks like me, but holy cow does she ever! You totally see her in all of my old pictures. It's crazy!! Here are a few examples. These aren't the pictures on the tree, but you get the idea.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! And yes! I could totally see how much McKinlay looked like you growing up. I look at her big smile and see you EVERY TIME! As for the tree.... I am so glad my girls don't pull it down, but Ka'iwa still loves to play with the ornaments. We finally made a comprimise and have selected the few that she can play with. We'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteThe tree blockade is so funny! I am sure she'll be just as or more intersted next year as well. You should get those pee-pee tee-pee engineers to create something useful like a childproof tree blocker! Love ya!
